A Salute to the Jews Who Created America’s Music

JEWS Rock!  A Salute to the Jews Who Created America’s Music is compilation of live and audio visual performances that illustrate the tremendous contribution Jews have made to America’s music.   This show is one night only at the Northern Virginia Community Center’s Auditorium on Saturday November 22, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.

From the early cantors to modern rockers, Paul Forbes has produced chronological survey of great Jewish composers and their music.  Included will be the Fanny Brice, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Leonard Bernstein, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, and much more. 

Performers include some of the best talent in the area including:

  • pianist Joe Gems
  • the Olam Tikvah Chorale

“The OT Men’s Club put on a show at the JCC several years ago,” noted Paul Forbes.  “People are still talking about it.  JEWS  Rock! promises to be an even bigger hit!”

JEWS Rock! is the Olam Tikvah Men’s Club major fundraiser.  The club’s mission is to support charitable activities for Jewish youth as well as other Jewish oriented activities such as Yom Hashoah.

There are four sessions: Prayer, the Sabbath, Jewish Observance, and Sexuality.
