to answer those questions!

The Facts:
The grants awarded are made up of dollars contributed by you and
are matched dollar-for-dollar by JYPI, doubling each group’s funds.
The Northern Virginia 8th-9th Grade Youth Philanthropy group and
the 10th-12th Grade Youth Philanthropy group each award $10,000-$15,000
in grants.
Working in groups of up to 25, participants explore the principles
of philanthropy and the needs of society, using site visits and interviews
with program staff and service recipients to help evaluate grant proposals
from local, national and international nonprofits. Site visits take
place in Virginia and Washington, D.C.
Groups meet 6 times on Sunday afternoons during the spring semester
(Jan/Feb to May).

for Metro Area Groups
ROCKVILLE, MD, November 26, 2008 – The Partnership for Jewish Life and
Learning announces three grant programs now open to eligible groups in
the Greater Washington community.
Jewish Culture Club Grants are open to programs designed to involve and
engage teens in Jewish Culture Clubs through local high schools. This
grant accepts requests up to $250 for an individual school and $500 for
a collaborative program. Applications are accepted on a rolling
basis and are available at ;
click on “Teens and Students,” then “Culture Clubs.” There is no
deadline for requests; grant applications are funded in the order they
are received. Funds are limited.
Youth & Teens Program Grants- is a collaborative, innovative program
in the organized Jewish community reaching any segment of the K-12 Jewish
population. This program allows requests between $500 and $2,000; it
is a competitive grant process. Applications are due December 22, 2008. JYPI
Incentive Grants- is a funding program for community service and social
justice-themed programs for organized groups of 8-12th grade Jewish teens.
This grant provides means to groups to make a difference in their community
and the communities of others through hands-on service and social action.
It allows requests up to $300 for an individual organization and up to
$500 for joint programs; it is a competitive grant process. Applications
