8th Annual JCCNV
International Jewish Film Festival
Tuesday, April 29 – Thursday, May 15
Film Festival Chairperson, Naomi Sweet

The JCCNV is proud to present the 8th Annual International Jewish Film Festival. Truly international, the film festival features films from eight countries including the U.S. and Israel. This year, in addition to the screenings at the Cinema Arts Theater in Fairfax and the JCCNV, the festival has expanded to include movie screenings at the Rosslyn Spectrum in Arlington.

The 8th International Jewish Film Festival is co-sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, Embassy of Israel, Arlington County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources, Fairfax Choral Society, Hadassah and area synagogues. It is partially underwritten by King David Memorial Gardens. (Logos)

The Israeli films in the festival are co-sponsored by the Embassy of Israel.

Shaare Tefila Congregation receives permission to build in Olney, MD
Shaare Tefila Congregation has just received (on April 11) approval from Montgomery County to build a synagogue in Olney, Maryland, close to the Rockville and Aspen Hill communities as well. We would like to have this important event publicized. I therefore attach a press release in Word format. In addition, I've also attached two jpg images of artists' renderings of the future house of worship's exterior and sanctuary.

Please visit our web site for photos of construction activity at the building site. That web site address is--- www.shaaretefila.org/entry/construction_has_begun (The web site showing demolition day, the first day of construction activity, is--- www.shaaretefila.org/entry/demolition_day)

Please contact Jill Goldwater, Executive Director of Shaare Tefila, at 301-593-3410, for further information and for reaching other leaders of Shaare Tefila.
