Beth Chaverim Reform Congregation announces its first permanent Rabbi

Beth Chaverim Reform Congregation, the only Reform Jewish Congregation in Loudoun County, is proud to announce our first permanent spiritual leader, Rabbi Jesse Gallop.  Rabbi Gallop is a native of Minneapolis, MN and comes to us with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science from the University of Denver and a Master of Arts degree in Hebrew Literature from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR).  His achievements have been recognized with awards for academic excellence and leadership in the university community.  Rabbi Gallop received the 2007 Rabbi Jill Kreitman Prize for exceptional achievement in history studies at HUC-JIR; he was the University of Denver’s Outstanding Sophomore Man of the Year for 2000. 

Rabbi Gallop has held social work positions as chaplain for the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York and as a director of youth programs in Israel, Florida and Puerto Rico.   He has been teaching and supervising Jewish education at the elementary, upper grades, family, and adult levels in Denver, Minneapolis, Brooklyn and Ashburn.  Over the last three years at HUC-JIR, then-Student Rabbi Gallop traveled regularly to Northern VA to serve as Beth Chaverim Reform Congregation’s worship leader, educator, and pastoral counselor.  Rabbi Gallop was ordained May 4, 2008 and will be joining the congregation as our permanent Rabbi on July 1st.

Top music performers, featuring Regina Spektor, Tony and Emmy Award-winning actor, Mandy Patinkin, Israeli rock band, Mashina, Sesame Street Muppets Oscar and Oofnik, theater, family activities and more!

Two-hour shifts available. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have adult supervision – student service learning hours available.
