Jul 30 Thu- Bone Marrow Registry at the 16th Street J

Wednesday and Thursday, July 29 and 30

4:30 – 7:30pm both days

A simple cheek swab and 10 minutes of your time can mean the second chance at life for Jonathan and others like him with Leukemia.

Register to save a life. Jonathan has leukemia and needs YOUR help!

Potential donors must be between the ages of 18-55 and in good general health to register. For other eligibility requirements or to donate please go towww.dkmsamericas.org

Jonathan is a 32-year-old Washington, DC area lifelong resident. He is a devoted husband, son, brother, friend and teammate. He is truly that person who would give a stranger the shirt off his back if needed. Jonathan was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, a very aggressive blood cancer. He urgently needs a bone marrow transplant as do many other individuals with Leukemia.

Since tissue type is inherited, Jonathan’s best chance of finding a donor lies with those of Jewish ancestry.

Just One Click... Jewish Life in Northern Virginia

It is with great pleasure that we announce the launch of shalomnova.org; the much anticipated, new online portal to Jewish life in Northern Virginia

Visit www.shalomnova.org to find:

  • An Event
  • A Congregation
  • A Way to Get Involved
  • News and Information
  • New People and Friends

Shalomnova.org features:

  • Blogging! - focusing on everything from wine to education
  • Clergy Corner - points of view from rabbis and spiritual leaders
  • Get involved! - information on volunteering, family interests, Israel programs, student info and much more

The blogs will engage us in dialogue with each other in areas of mutual and communal interest. Each topic discussion is managed by a local volunteer blogger from our community. The resources and information provided throughout the site are thanks to the support of the congregations and agencies who create opportunities for our community every day.

Thank you to all those who helped create the vision and worked to develop each unique element of this site, it would not have been possible without the hard work and support of Northern Virginia community leaders and The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.

What are you waiting for? Check out www.ShalomNova.org today!
